Police Assure Osun Women of Peaceful Governorship Election

 

 The Osun State Police Command has assured women across the state and other political stakeholders of adequate security before, during and after the forthcoming governorship election.

The command gave the assurance while appealing to residents and political actors to cooperate with security agencies to ensure that the election is conducted peacefully and without violence. 

The police said measures had been put in place to protect voters, electoral officials, candidates and other participants in the electoral process. The command also stressed the importance of maintaining peace as political activities intensify across the state.

Women were particularly urged to participate actively in the electoral process while avoiding actions that could undermine peace and security.

The police further called on political parties and their supporters to conduct their campaigns responsibly and refrain from inflammatory statements, intimidation or any form of electoral violence.

The command assured residents that security personnel would remain professional and impartial in the discharge of their responsibilities, while urging members of the public to report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

The assurance comes as political parties and aspirants intensify preparations for the Osun governorship election, with stakeholders calling for a credible, peaceful and transparent electoral process.
