The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a member of the Ratel movement known as Veryblackman of Port Harcourt over an alleged threat to the life of Nigerian comedian and reality TV personality DeeOne.
Veryblackman, who has been identified in reports as a brother of social media activist VeryDarkMan, was reportedly arrested on Saturday after allegedly failing to honour a police invitation concerning the threat. He was subsequently transported to Lagos on Sunday as investigations continued.
The development follows an earlier controversy between Veryblackman and DeeOne. Reports indicate that Veryblackman allegedly threatened to kill the comedian in June 2026 after DeeOne criticised VeryDarkMan.
The alleged threat generated reactions on social media, with some personalities calling on the police to investigate and take appropriate action.
DeeOne acknowledged the arrest in an Instagram post, commending the Nigerian Police for their intervention and warning against making threats against people’s lives.
The latest development has brought the dispute between the two social media personalities into a formal law-enforcement process. Police investigations are expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged threat and determine whether further action will be taken against Veryblackman.
