A 45-year-old man, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, wanted in the United Kingdom over the alleged murder of his wife and two daughters, has been arrested in Johannesburg, South Africa after an international manhunt.
South African authorities said Tshuma was arrested in the Kensington area of Johannesburg during a joint operation involving the South African Police Service (SAPS), Interpol, and UK law enforcement agencies.
He is accused of killing his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma (42), and their two daughters, Natalie (15) and Nala (5), whose bodies were discovered at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, England.
Reports said Tshuma had left the UK before the discovery of the bodies, prompting a global search and an Interpol alert. UK authorities are expected to begin extradition proceedings to return him to Britain to face charges.
South African police praised the cooperation between international agencies, saying the arrest showed the country would not become a safe haven for fugitives wanted for serious crimes
