U.S. President Donald Trump drew attention after describing rapper Nicki Minaj as “so hot” while introducing her at a luncheon held in the White House Rose Garden on Monday.
Addressing guests, Trump praised the award-winning rapper, saying:
“We also have a woman that is respected and so hot. She is such a great friend, a fantastic person, a woman that is respected by everybody, and she’s got real talent. We have Nicki Minaj.”
Trump then invited Minaj to stand, prompting applause from attendees. The event was held to promote the administration’s Trump Accounts investment programme for children.
Minaj later shared photos and videos from her White House visit on social media, referring to herself as “#WhiteHouseBarbie.” She also posed for photographs in the Oval Office with the president.
Clips of Trump’s remarks quickly went viral online, sparking mixed reactions on social media, with supporters praising the exchange while critics questioned the president’s choice of words during an official White House event.
