Tokyo police have arrested a 53-year-old Nigerian man, Nwadiukwu Sylvester Ikenna, for allegedly engaging in persistent touting in the Kabukicho entertainment district of Shinjuku, Tokyo.
According to reports, the suspect was accused of repeatedly approaching and soliciting passers-by on behalf of an establishment in the nightlife area. Police said the arrest was part of efforts to crack down on aggressive street touting and alleged scams targeting visitors in Kabukicho.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department has increased enforcement activities in Kabukicho, a busy nightlife district where authorities have been monitoring touts and illegal street solicitation
