Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have recorded fresh successes in the fight against banditry and terrorism, rescuing kidnapped victims, foiling an attempted abduction and arresting suspected terrorist logistics suppliers during coordinated operations across Zamfara, Katsina and Kebbi states. The military said the operations were driven by actionable intelligence and formed part of its ongoing offensive against criminal groups operating in the North-West.
According to a statement by the Joint Task Force (North West) spokesman, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, troops successfully rescued several kidnap victims from terrorist hideouts and disrupted attempts by armed bandits to abduct more civilians in separate operations. The security forces also intercepted suspects allegedly transporting 10 motorcycles believed to be intended for use by terrorist groups in the region.
The military disclosed that the arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation to help uncover wider terrorist logistics networks and identify other collaborators. It added that intelligence gathered from the arrests would support ongoing operations aimed at dismantling criminal camps and cutting off supplies to armed groups.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA has intensified offensive operations across the North-West in recent weeks, leading to the rescue of kidnapped victims, the recovery of rustled livestock and the arrest of suspected terrorists and their collaborators.
