Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has made an emotional appeal to Nigerians for financial assistance after revealing that she is battling cancer for the second time.

In a video circulating on social media, Anijekwu said she was first diagnosed with cancer in 2023, underwent surgery and chemotherapy, and initially responded to treatment. However, she disclosed that the disease has returned and spread to her bones, requiring more intensive treatment, including radiation therapy and another surgery.

The actress said the cost of her treatment has become overwhelming, explaining that she now needs about ₦600,000 each month for medical care. She also revealed that the cancer has affected both breasts and caused swelling in her hands.

In her appeal, Anijekwu pleaded:

“I need to live. I need to survive. I’m asking Nigerians to please help me. Anyone that can help, please, I need help.”

She urged members of the public to contribute whatever they could, saying that even small donations would help her continue treatment. According to reports, she is currently receiving care at the Lakeshore Cancer Centre in Lagos.

Her appeal has sparked an outpouring of sympathy online, with many Nigerians calling for support from colleagues in the entertainment industry and well-meaning members of the public
