Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has arrived at the Rivers State House of Assembly to present the 2026 Appropriation Bill, marking a significant step in the state’s budget process following months of political tensions.
The presentation follows the Assembly’s decision to grant the governor leave to present the budget. It also represents a major milestone in the reconciliation between the governor and lawmakers after nearly three years of political disputes, parallel legislative sittings, and disagreements over budget presentations.
According to the governor, the proposed 2026 budget is valued at ₦1.85 trillion and is expected to focus on infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and other critical sectors aimed at driving economic growth and improving public services in Rivers State.
The budget presentation is being closely watched as a test of the renewed working relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government in Rivers State after a prolonged political crisis
