At least eight people were killed in a violent clash between farmers and herders in Ribah District of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, Kebbi State, according to local authorities and security sources. The incident is the latest in a series of conflicts over farmland, grazing routes, and access to water resources in the area.

Reports indicate that the confrontation escalated after a dispute between members of the farming and herding communities, leading to the loss of lives and injuries to several others. Houses and property were also reportedly damaged during the violence.

The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the incident and said security personnel were deployed to restore calm and prevent further reprisals. Authorities have also launched an investigation to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.

Community leaders have appealed for restraint and urged both sides to embrace dialogue, warning that retaliatory attacks could worsen the security situation in the region. The state government is also said to be engaging stakeholders to prevent a recurrence
