China has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its long-standing partnership with Nigeria, pledging deeper cooperation in governance, economic development, and strategic engagement as the Communist Party of China (CPC) marked its 105th anniversary.

In a statement issued in Abuja, China’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, said the CPC’s leadership had been the driving force behind China’s transformation into the world’s second-largest economy and a major engine of global growth. He attributed the country’s rapid economic development and long-term social stability to the party’s leadership since its founding in 1921.

The ambassador said China would continue to deepen cooperation with Nigeria through stronger political trust, economic collaboration, and existing platforms such as the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He added that Beijing remains committed to supporting Nigeria’s development priorities while expanding mutually beneficial partnerships.

Yu also highlighted what he described as the four pillars behind China’s progress: independence and self-reliance, a people-centred development philosophy, continuous self-reform, and theoretical innovation. He said the CPC had lifted millions out of poverty, expanded education and healthcare, and maintained its vitality through anti-corruption efforts and institutional reforms.

The envoy expressed optimism that the China–Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership would continue to grow, opening a new chapter in bilateral relations and creating more opportunities for cooperation in trade, infrastructure, technology, and people-to-people exchanges.
