The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Daniel Bwala, has outlined the Federal Government’s multi-pronged strategy to tackle insurgency, banditry and kidnapping, saying the Tinubu administration is implementing coordinated military, intelligence and diplomatic measures to restore security across the country.

Speaking during an interview on TVC News, Bwala said the government has significantly strengthened collaboration among the Nigerian Army, Air Force, Navy, Department of State Services (DSS), Police and other security agencies, enabling more coordinated operations against criminal groups. He added that intelligence gathering and information sharing have been enhanced to improve the effectiveness of security interventions.

According to Bwala, the Federal Government is also addressing the cross-border dimension of insecurity by working closely with neighbouring countries to curb the movement of armed groups and the influx of illegal weapons. He disclosed that security agencies have arrested several foreign nationals allegedly linked to insurgent activities, describing the development as evidence that insecurity in Nigeria has regional connections requiring international cooperation.

He further stated that the government is investing in modern military equipment, improving troop welfare and adopting technology-driven surveillance to strengthen operations against terrorists, bandits and kidnappers. Bwala argued that these measures are already yielding positive results in several parts of the country, with security forces recording increased successes in clearing criminal hideouts and rescuing kidnapped victims.

While acknowledging that security challenges persist, Bwala maintained that the administration remains committed to ending insurgency and organised crime through sustained military pressure, stronger intelligence capabilities and closer collaboration with local communities. He urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible information that would assist ongoing operations to protect lives and property.
