Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate for the 2027 election, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed sympathy with residents affected by the recent flooding in Lagos State, describing the incident as a painful reminder of the challenges many families are facing.

In a statement shared on his X account on Tuesday, Atiku extended his condolences to families, motorists, commuters, business owners, and others whose lives and livelihoods were disrupted by the flooding. He said his thoughts were with everyone affected by the disaster.

The former vice president noted that the flooding underscored the importance of unity and compassion during difficult times, urging Nigerians to continue supporting one another as affected communities recover. He also prayed for the safety of victims and expressed hope for a swift return to normalcy.

His message comes amid widespread flooding in parts of Lagos following heavy rainfall, which caused traffic gridlock, damaged property, and disrupted commercial activities in several areas
