Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Borno State have successfully uncovered and neutralised an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Maiduguri.
The device was discovered in a suspicious backpack abandoned at Layin Logo in the Moduganari area of Maiduguri during a routine patrol by officers.
According to the police spokesperson, ASP Nahim Daso, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit was immediately deployed after the discovery. The team identified the object as an IED and safely detonated it in line with standard procedures, preventing potential casualties.
The police urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious items or movements, noting that investigations are ongoing to determine who planted the device.
