A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Farah Dagogo, has taken legal action against the party after allegedly being excluded from the governorship primary process despite reportedly spending over N100 million on his political ambition.
Dagogo, a former federal lawmaker, reportedly filed a suit challenging what he described as his unlawful exclusion from the APC governorship primary ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, he invested heavily in consultations, mobilisation, campaign logistics, and political activities after purchasing nomination forms and participating in the party process.
The aggrieved aspirant alleged that the party leadership acted unfairly by sidelining him despite his loyalty and financial commitment to the APC structure in Rivers State.
“You cannot dump me after I spent over N100 million pursuing this aspiration,” Dagogo reportedly argued while insisting that due process was not followed.
He is asking the court to nullify aspects of the primary process and compel the party to recognise his participation rights under the APC constitution and Nigeria’s electoral laws.
The lawsuit adds to a growing number of pre-election disputes and internal party conflicts already emerging across several political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Political analysts warn that unresolved internal crises and litigations could weaken party unity and complicate candidate selection processes in the months ahead.
