Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has explained why his colleague, Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, cannot be moved from the hospital for spiritual or alternative treatment despite receiving hundreds of offers from people willing to help.
Kosoko made the clarification in a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, while appealing to fans, colleagues and well-wishers to continue praying for the ailing actor. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming concern and support Ogogo’s family has received since news of his health condition emerged.
According to Kosoko, the family has received offers from more than 300 and possibly over 500 people, many of whom believe they have medical, spiritual or specialised interventions that could help Ogogo.
However, he explained that the major challenge is Ogogo’s current condition and the difficulty involved in moving him from the hospital where he is receiving care.
Kosoko said the family does not want those who have offered spiritual or traditional treatment to feel offended because they have been unable to bring Ogogo to them. He stressed that moving the actor between different locations at this stage of his treatment would be extremely difficult.
He appealed to the well-wishers to understand the family’s position and continue offering their prayers and support instead.
The actor’s statement comes amid growing public concern over Ogogo’s health. His daughters recently appealed for assistance, revealing that their father is battling stage-four cancer and expressing concerns about accessing adequate treatment.
