What began as a close friendship between Nigerian rappers Odumodublvck and BlaqBonez has evolved into one of the most publicised conflicts in the country’s music industry, with a woman’s allegations eventually becoming central to the dispute.

The two rappers were once close collaborators. They worked together on songs including Dollers, Tesla Boy and Technician, and their relationship was widely viewed as one of the promising partnerships in Nigeria’s new-school hip-hop scene. Their collaboration, however, gradually gave way to tension, public exchanges and diss tracks.

While the exact event that caused the friendship to collapse has never been conclusively established, the dispute intensified through 2025. Both artistes began trading shots online and through music, while their respective camps also became involved.

Odumodublvck later explained that the conflict was not simply a rap rivalry. In November 2025, he said someone close to him had allegedly been subjected to prolonged online abuse, threats and personal violations, adding that he had intervened after efforts to resolve the matter privately failed.

That woman would later become a significant part of the story.

A woman identified as Jane Doe had previously submitted a petition against BlaqBonez, accusing him of harassment, bullying, invasion of privacy and sharing unauthorised private material. The allegations were not established by a court, and BlaqBonez denied wrongdoing.

The existence of the petition subsequently became a major point of contention between the two rappers.

Odumodublvck argued that the matter had been ignored by people within the Nigerian entertainment industry. He accused industry figures of protecting BlaqBonez rather than addressing the woman’s allegations.

The dispute escalated dramatically in June 2026 when Odumodublvck publicly labelled BlaqBonez a sexual abuser and alleged that the music industry was covering up the accusations. He also claimed that several industry figures were aware of the matter.

The allegations immediately changed the character of the feud. What had previously been viewed largely as a clash between two rappers was now connected to serious accusations of sexual misconduct.

BlaqBonez rejected the allegations and threatened legal action. His lawyers subsequently issued a letter demanding damages of N2.55 billion, alongside an apology and other remedies, accusing Odumodublvck of defamation, harassment and threats.

The legal threat demonstrated just how far the relationship between the former friends had deteriorated.

Their disagreement had already involved allegations of physical confrontations and clashes between members of their respective circles. Chocolate City, BlaqBonez’s record label, previously accused Odumodublvck of physically assaulting a member of its staff at the Rhythm Unplugged concert in December 2025. Odumodublvck has disputed aspects of the allegations surrounding the feud.
