Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumah, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has challenged fellow rapper Odumodublvck to prove in court allegations of sexual abuse made against him.
The development marks a major escalation in the ongoing dispute between the two artists, moving the confrontation from social media into the legal arena. Daily Post reported on Wednesday that Blaqbonez had responded to the allegations by demanding that Odumodublvck present evidence before a court.
Blaqbonez’s response followed accusations made publicly by Odumodublvck concerning alleged sexual misconduct. The allegations are serious and remain unproven; Blaqbonez has denied wrongdoing.
Rather than continue the dispute solely online, Blaqbonez has indicated that he is prepared to have the matter determined through legal proceedings.
Reports indicate that his legal representatives have also issued a pre-action notice to Odumodublvck over the statements. The rapper is reportedly seeking substantial damages and other remedies over what he considers defamatory allegations.
The dispute has attracted considerable attention because both men are prominent figures in Nigeria’s contemporary rap scene. Their rivalry has previously played out through music and social media, but the latest allegations have raised the stakes considerably.
