Popular Nigerian social media personality Bobrisky has criticised Nigerians who have been dragging luxury shopper Kaycee Luxury on social media following his arrest by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Kaycee Luxury was reportedly arrested by NDLEA operatives, a development that quickly generated reactions online, with some Nigerians linking the arrest to his public lifestyle and business activities.

Reacting to the controversy, Bobrisky urged Nigerians to stop passing judgment on Kaycee Luxury based solely on reports of his arrest.

The crossdresser questioned the tendency of social-media users to immediately condemn people once they are arrested by law-enforcement agencies. According to Bobrisky, an arrest does not automatically mean that the person has been found guilty of an offence.

His comments come amid growing public discussion surrounding the circumstances of Kaycee Luxury’s arrest and the allegations being investigated by the NDLEA.

Bobrisky calls for restraint

Bobrisky’s reaction appeared to focus on the presumption of innocence, arguing that Nigerians should allow the relevant authorities to conduct their investigation before reaching conclusions about Kaycee Luxury.

The development has also triggered intense conversations online, with social-media users debating Kaycee’s lifestyle, business dealings and the circumstances surrounding the NDLEA’s intervention.

However, the details of the allegations against Kaycee Luxury remain subject to the outcome of the investigation. An arrest or investigation does not by itself establish criminal guilt.

The NDLEA is responsible for investigating and prosecuting offences involving illicit drugs and controlled substances in Nigeria. Its operations frequently attract public attention, particularly when prominent personalities or individuals with large social-media followings are involved.
