Fifteen people have been rescued and taken to Kura General Hospital for medical treatment following a serious road crash involving a DAF trailer on the Kano–Zaria Road.
The accident occurred on Sunday, August 23, 2026, after the trailer, which was reportedly carrying both passengers and goods, crashed along the highway.
According to the report, emergency responders arrived at the scene after the crash and rescued the victims. The injured were subsequently transported to Kura General Hospital for medical attention.
The circumstances surrounding the crash, including the condition of the victims and what caused the trailer to lose control, were still being established at the time of reporting.
The incident has once again highlighted safety concerns along the Kano–Zaria highway, a major route connecting communities in Kano and Kaduna states and used heavily by commercial vehicles.
Authorities are expected to investigate the accident and determine whether factors such as speeding, vehicle condition, driver error or road conditions contributed to the crash.
The 15 rescued victims remain under medical care as emergency agencies continue to respond to the incident.
