Former Argentina striker and Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has reportedly advised Atletico Madrid to consider selling Julian Alvarez if the player is determined to leave the club.

The comments come after Alvarez publicly revealed that he wants to leave Atletico Madrid this summer, saying he has already spoken with club officials and believes that a transfer would be “the best for everyone” as he seeks to fulfill a personal dream.

According to reports, Aguero believes Atletico should avoid keeping an unhappy player and instead negotiate a deal that benefits all parties. The former striker is said to favor a move that would allow Alvarez to continue his development at the highest level.

Alvarez has become one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe, attracting interest from clubs including FC Barcelona, Arsenal F.C., Paris Saint-Germain F.C., and Real Madrid CF. Atletico Madrid have previously rejected a reported €150 million bid and continue to insist that the Argentine remains a key part of their plans.

Despite the speculation, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo has repeatedly maintained that Alvarez is not for sale and has pointed to the player’s long-term contract and massive release clause.
