Emergency responders have rescued 10 people alive from the rubble of the three-storey building that collapsed in the Alakija area of Lagos State. Rescue operations are continuing as officials work to determine whether more victims remain trapped beneath the debris.

According to reports from emergency agencies and local authorities, the rescued victims were given immediate medical attention, while search-and-rescue teams from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the fire service, and other responders remain at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released a final casualty figure, and officials say efforts are focused on locating any remaining survivors and safely clearing the rubble. The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.

The incident has renewed concerns about building safety, structural integrity, and regulatory compliance in Lagos, where several building collapses have occurred in recent years.
