Veteran English midfielder James Milner has officially announced his retirement from professional football, bringing an end to a remarkable career spanning more than two decades.

Milner retires as one of the most respected and durable players in Premier League history. He holds the record for the most Premier League appearances by an outfield player and finishes his career with over 650 league matches.

The former England international played for clubs including Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool FC, and Brighton & Hove Albion during his career.

Milner won multiple major honours, including three Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and League Cup trophies.

In a farewell statement, Milner thanked teammates, coaches, supporters, and his family for supporting him throughout his football journey, describing himself as “fortunate to have lived the dream for so many years.”
