The Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspected fraudsters found in possession of 1,600 counterfeit U.S. dollar bills and military camouflage items during an operation in the state. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the syndicate’s activities and identify other members.
According to the police, the suspects were apprehended following intelligence-led operations targeting criminal networks involved in fraud and related offences. During the arrest, officers recovered the fake dollar notes, which were allegedly intended for use in fraudulent transactions.
The Delta State Police Command said efforts are underway to determine the source of the counterfeit currency and whether the suspects are linked to a larger criminal network operating within or outside the state.
Authorities also recovered military camouflage materials from the suspects, raising concerns about possible impersonation or other criminal activities. The police stated that further arrests may follow as investigations continue.
The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
