The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects allegedly connected to a kidnapping and murder case under investigation in Okada, Edo State. The suspects were apprehended in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode following intelligence-led operations by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit. 


The suspects were identified as:


  • Gafaru Adamu (25)
  • Muhammed Sanni (20)  



According to the Ogun Police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, preliminary investigations revealed that the duo is wanted in connection with the kidnapping and alleged murder of two hostages in the Okada area of Edo State. Intelligence reports also suggest they are members of a seven-man kidnapping syndicate linked to the crime. 


During the operation, police recovered:


  • One police camouflage uniform
  • Three mobile phones believed to be relevant to the investigation  



The Ogun Police Command said the alleged offences occurred in Edo State. Consequently, the suspects and recovered exhibits will be transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution. 


Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni commended the officers involved in the operation and reiterated that Ogun State will not be allowed to serve as a hideout or transit point for criminal elements. 


The arrests were described by the police as a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle interstate kidnapping networks operating across southern Nigeria.
