Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has visited the residence of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, following the abduction of his sister and her two children in Ibadan.The visit was described as a solidarity and condolence mission, during which the governor assured the family that security agencies were actively working to secure the safe release of the victims.
Adelabu’s sister was reportedly abducted alongside her twin sons during a school run in Ibadan, sparking concern across the state and renewed calls for stronger security around schools and residential areas.
During the visit, Makinde:
- Comforted the family
- Reassured them that rescue efforts were ongoing
- Promised that those responsible would be brought to justice
The incident is part of a recent wave of kidnappings in parts of Oyo State, which has led to:
- public protests
- school closures in some areas
- increased security operations in affected communities
Authorities say operations are ongoing to track the kidnappers and rescue the victims safely.
