At least four people have been killed and two others injured following a suspected cult clash in Ilorin, Kwara State, according to police and eyewitness reports.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in the Post Office area of Ilorin, where armed hoodlums reportedly stormed a local gathering point and opened fire on people in the area before fleeing the scene.
The Kwara State Police Command confirmed that four victims were confirmed dead by medical personnel, while the injured were rushed to a police clinic for treatment.
Police also described the incident as cult-related, adding that preliminary investigations have begun and efforts are ongoing to track down the suspects involved. Security operatives have since been deployed to restore calm and prevent further attacks in the area.
Authorities say arrests have been made in connection with the attack, and further investigations are ongoing to uncover the wider network behind the violence.
