According to multiple reports published on June 11–12, 2026, Elon Musk has become the world’s first person with a net worth exceeding $1 trillion, following the record-breaking initial public offering (IPO) of SpaceX.
The milestone was driven primarily by:
- SpaceX’s historic $75 billion IPO, the largest in history.
- A SpaceX valuation that surged above $2 trillion after trading began.
- Musk’s massive ownership stake in SpaceX, in addition to his holdings in Tesla, xAI, Neuralink, and other ventures.
Reuters reported that Musk’s net worth climbed to roughly $1.1 trillion, with his SpaceX stake alone valued at about $866 billion.
The achievement marks the first time in modern history that an individual’s estimated wealth has crossed the trillion-dollar threshold. Analysts had predicted the milestone for months, but the SpaceX IPO ultimately pushed Musk past it.
