Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has commended voters in the state for what he described as an “impressive turnout” during the governorship election, expressing confidence that he would emerge victorious at the end of the exercise.
Speaking after casting his vote at his polling unit, Oyebanji said the election had so far been peaceful and well-organised, noting that voters demonstrated strong civic participation across various parts of the state. He praised the conduct of the process and expressed optimism that the outcome would reflect the will of the people.
The governor also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for improvements in the electoral process, particularly the use of technology to enhance accreditation and transparency. He maintained that early reports from across the state indicated a smooth voting exercise.
Oyebanji further said he was confident of securing a second term, citing what he described as widespread acceptance of his administration’s performance and ongoing development projects across Ekiti State.
