A Federal High Court has fixed July 1, 2026, for hearing in a suit challenging the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election in Delta State.

The case is one of several legal disputes arising from the party’s primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections. The claimant is seeking judicial intervention over the conduct and outcome of the primary, alleging irregularities in the process that produced the party’s candidate.

The court adjourned the matter to allow parties in the suit to properly present their arguments and file the necessary processes before the substantive hearing. The July 1 date is expected to provide an opportunity for the court to examine the claims and responses from all sides.

The dispute comes amid heightened political activity within the Delta APC following the party’s primaries, which produced several contentious outcomes and generated internal disagreements among aspirants and supporters.

Political observers say the outcome of the case could influence the APC’s preparations for future elections in the state, particularly if the court makes any orders affecting the validity of the primary election
