A governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has explained that his ambition to become governor is driven by a desire to improve governance, address insecurity, and uplift the standard of living of residents across the state.

The aspirant, Alhaji Ladi Hassan, said his long years of experience in public service, politics, and administration make him well-positioned to lead Kwara effectively if given the party’s ticket and eventual mandate.

He stated that his decision to enter the governorship race was influenced by:

  • His deep connection to Kwara communities
  • His understanding of the state’s challenges
  • His belief that he can deliver people-focused governance

Hassan also described himself as a “sellable candidate,” urging PDP stakeholders to consider him in any consensus arrangement, saying his political network and experience across the state give him an advantage.

On insecurity, he said his grassroots exposure would help him deploy local intelligence and community engagement strategies to tackle security challenges more effectively.

He further emphasized that his ambition is not personal, but aimed at restoring development, reducing poverty, and ensuring that governance is closer to the people.
