Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued a missing toddler in Plateau State and reunited the child with their family after a coordinated search operation.

According to reports, the child was found at about 9:20 p.m. on May 26 by soldiers stationed at the Latya checkpoint in the state.

Military sources said the toddler had earlier been reported missing, prompting swift search efforts by security personnel in the area.

After the child was discovered, troops immediately took custody and ensured the toddler was safe before contacting family members for identification and reunification.

The army noted that the rescue reflects ongoing efforts by security agencies to respond quickly to missing persons and kidnapping-related cases in Plateau State and other parts of the country.

Authorities also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity promptly to support ongoing security operations.

The development comes amid broader military operations in Plateau State aimed at tackling kidnapping, banditry, and other security challenges affecting communities in the region.
