Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has declared that the country is too great and resilient to be intimidated by insurgents and other non-state actors threatening national security.

She made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers’ Council at the Government House in Ado-Ekiti as part of her official visit to the state.

According to the First Lady, President Bola Tinubu is working tirelessly to address insecurity across the country through strengthened internal security measures and collaboration with international partners.

She expressed confidence that Nigeria’s security challenges would eventually be overcome, noting that the Federal Government, security agencies, and foreign allies are actively working to restore peace and stability.

“Nigeria is too big to be intimidated by non-state actors,” she said, while urging citizens not to lose hope despite the current security situation.

The First Lady also appealed to Nigerians to remain prayerful and supportive of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality.

During the visit, she announced a ₦100 million Business Recapitalisation Grant for 2,000 female petty traders in Ekiti State, with each beneficiary receiving ₦50,000 to support their businesses and families.

Traditional rulers at the event commended the Federal Government’s efforts but also called for stronger measures, including tougher anti-kidnapping laws and broader security reforms to tackle the country’s security challenges.
