The Lagos State Government has launched a fresh safety campaign aimed at reducing road accidents involving dispatch riders across the state.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to address the rising number of crashes linked to commercial motorcycle delivery operations, which have become a major part of Lagos’ fast-growing logistics sector. Recent incidents have raised concern, with multiple reports of fatal accidents involving dispatch riders on busy roads in the state.
Authorities say the campaign will focus on road safety education, enforcement of traffic rules, and proper training for riders, especially those operating under tight delivery schedules that often push them to speed or take risky routes. Officials also plan to work with logistics companies to ensure compliance with safety standards and reduce reckless riding practices.
The move comes amid growing concerns from transport agencies and safety advocates that the increasing demand for fast delivery services is contributing to unsafe riding behaviour and preventable road crashes in the state.
