Businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has announced the death of his wife following her battle with cancer.
Fayose, who is the younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Saturday. Posting a candlelight image, he wrote, “Rest In Peace, My darling wife.”
In another emotional tribute, he shared photos of his late wife alongside the message, “Odaro oyinbo mi,” a Yoruba farewell phrase expressing affection and grief.
The tragic announcement came months after Fayose publicly revealed that his wife had been seriously ill with cancer. Earlier this year, he shared an emotional video recounting how he travelled to Australia to visit his family, only to find his wife too weak to speak or carry out daily activities.
According to him, the woman who usually welcomed him warmly at the airport could no longer come because of her deteriorating health. Fayose revealed that he had to care for her personally and even sang her favourite hymn beside her hospital bed while she squeezed his hand in response.
The businessman also reflected emotionally on the limits of wealth during difficult times, saying money could not save his wife despite his financial status. His earlier video drew widespread sympathy online.
Following news of her death, fans, celebrities, and supporters flooded social media with condolence messages. Actress Yvonne Jegede, comedian Ali Baba, veteran singer Daddy Showkey, and several others expressed sympathy to Fayose and his family during the difficult period.
