The Federal Government has called on Nigerian entrepreneurs, innovators, and startup companies to apply for the AfCFTA Startup Acceleration and Partnership Programme 2026, an initiative aimed at strengthening trade, innovation, and business collaboration between Africa and South Korea.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that the programme was launched by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Korea-Africa Foundation.

According to the ministry, the programme is expected to support about 30 selected African startups operating in strategic sectors such as fintech, e-commerce, logistics, manufacturing, digital platforms, and agricultural value chains.

In a statement issued by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the government explained that the initiative is designed to strengthen economic cooperation, boost innovation, and promote private-sector partnerships between African countries and Korea under the AfCFTA framework.

Selected startups will benefit from business acceleration support, mentorship opportunities, market-readiness training, investment networking, and exposure to Korean and global markets. Participants are also expected to receive capacity-building support to help scale their businesses internationally.

The Federal Government encouraged qualified Nigerian startups with innovative and scalable business models to take advantage of the programme to expand their reach beyond local markets and contribute to Africa’s growing digital and trade ecosystem.

Interested applicants have been advised to visit the official AfCFTA portal for detailed eligibility requirements, programme guidelines, and application procedures. The application deadline is May 31, 2026.

The ministry also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to supporting youth entrepreneurship, continental economic integration, innovation, and international partnerships capable of driving sustainable development across Africa.
