Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has dismissed reports claiming he financed the construction of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement shared via his social media page, Otedola clarified that he did not contribute any funds to the multibillion-dollar refinery project, stressing that he has “not invested a single kobo” in its development.
He explained that the viral reports suggesting he played a financial role in the refinery’s funding are completely inaccurate and should be disregarded. Otedola added that while he respects the project and its owner, his involvement was never financial.
The businessman also noted that his only connection to the refinery discussions was linked to interest in future investment opportunities, not direct funding or partnership.
The clarification comes amid widespread online claims and speculation about the financing structure of the refinery, which has remained one of Nigeria’s most talked-about private-sector projects.
So far, both Otedola and parties associated with the refinery have continued to dismiss the reports as misinformation.
