Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Brazilian midfielder Ederson from Italian side Atalanta after the player agreed personal terms with the Premier League club.
According to reports from Italy and England, Manchester United have intensified negotiations for the 26-year-old midfielder as manager Ruben Amorim looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Ederson is said to have already agreed contract terms with the Red Devils, with discussions now focused on reaching a final transfer agreement with Atalanta.
The proposed transfer fee is reportedly valued at around €45 million, although performance-related bonuses could increase the total package
Ederson has emerged as one of Serie A’s standout midfielders in recent seasons due to his physicality, ball-winning ability, and versatility in central midfield.
The Brazilian played a key role in Atalanta’s recent domestic and European campaigns, attracting interest from several top European clubs before Manchester United moved ahead in the race for his signature.
Manchester United are expected to make midfield reinforcements a major priority this summer amid uncertainty surrounding the futures of some current squad members.
If completed, the deal would become one of United’s major signings of the summer transfer window as the club aims to rebuild after a disappointing campaign.
