Nollywood actor and Lagos lawmaker, Desmond Elliot, has publicly apologised to former Speaker of the House of Representatives and current Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, over recent political disagreements.
Speaking during an appearance on TVC’s Your View, Elliot described Gbajabiamila as both a mentor and an elder brother who played a major role in shaping his political career. He admitted that misunderstandings may have occurred during recent political developments in Lagos but insisted there was no deliberate intention to offend him.
“I’m sorry, my daddy, if I’ve offended you in any way,” Elliot said during the interview, while emphasizing the importance of forgiveness and party unity.
The apology comes months after tensions linked to the Lagos State House of Assembly leadership crisis and political struggles within Surulere. Gbajabiamila had earlier revealed that allegations connected to Elliot’s political activities almost cost him his position as Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
Despite the controversy, Elliot maintained that he remains focused on strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Surulere and continuing his work as a lawmaker. He also pointed to his achievements in the constituency as proof of his commitment to public service.
The actor-turned-politician is currently seeking another term in the Lagos State House of Assembly, although reports suggest he is facing growing opposition from other APC stakeholders within the constituency.
