Activist and politician Aisha Yesufu has dismissed reports claiming that she has withdrawn from the race for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Reacting to the reports through her social media platforms, Yesufu described the claim as false and misleading, insisting that she remains fully committed to her senatorial ambition.

According to her, there has been no discussion, agreement, or decision on her part to step down from the contest or abandon her political plans for the FCT.

“Yes, I am still in the race,” she reportedly stated while urging supporters to disregard rumours suggesting otherwise.

The activist also accused unnamed individuals of spreading misinformation aimed at creating confusion among her supporters and weakening her political movement.

Yesufu, widely known for her role in the #BringBackOurGirls campaign and other civic advocacy efforts, formally declared interest in the FCT Senate seat as part of her broader involvement in Nigeria’s political process.

Her senatorial ambition has continued to attract public attention because of her strong social activism background and outspoken criticism of governance issues in Nigeria.

The clarification comes as political parties and aspirants intensify preparations, consultations, and campaign activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
