President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed the ₦68.32 trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, officially activating the federal government’s spending plan for the year.
The President also approved an extension of the 2025 budget implementation deadline, shifting it from March 31 to June 30, 2026, to allow Ministries, Departments, and Agencies complete ongoing capital projects.

- ₦15.8 trillion – Debt servicing
- ₦15.4 trillion – Recurrent expenditure
- ₦32.2 trillion – Capital expenditure (development projects)
Government officials said the structure shows a strong focus on infrastructure and development spending, with capital projects taking about half of the total budget.
