The wife of Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has praised 100 women who successfully completed the first phase of the Anambra Skilled Ladies Training Programme, describing the initiative as a major step toward economic empowerment.

Speaking after the completion of the training, she expressed satisfaction with the participants’ dedication, noting that the programme has helped foster self-reliance and entrepreneurial growth among the women.

The initiative, launched in March under her Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, is designed to equip women with practical, high-demand technical skills, especially in fields traditionally dominated by men.

Over the course of five weeks of intensive hands-on training, the participants were trained in areas such as:

  • Solar and CCTV installation
  • Air-conditioning repair and maintenance
  • Tricycle (keke) repairs
  • Painting and related technical skills

Soludo described the programme as a “game changer,” emphasizing that the women have gained not just skills, but the capacity to transform their lives and contribute meaningfully to society. She highlighted their passion, commitment, and attention to detail throughout the training.

The broader goal of the programme is to bridge the employment gap, challenge gender stereotypes, and create a new generation of skilled female entrepreneurs across Anambra State.
