Troops of the Nigerian Army have recorded fresh operational gains across multiple theatres, including the interception of suspected terrorist logistics supplies, the disruption of planned attacks, and the rescue of abducted victims during coordinated operations in the North-East and other parts of the country.
According to an operational report released by military authorities, troops intercepted a truck loaded with large quantities of medical supplies believed to be destined for terrorist groups operating in the region. The vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint in Nguru, Yobe State, where the driver initially claimed it was carrying non-restricted goods, but a detailed search revealed cartons of drugs and medical items, including antibiotics, injections, and bandages.
Investigations further showed that the consignment was allegedly intended for movement through border routes into neighbouring territories, raising suspicions of its use in sustaining insurgent networks. Several suspects linked to the shipment were arrested and are currently being interrogated.
In separate operations, troops also foiled attempted terrorist movements in different locations, engaging insurgents in gunfire and forcing them to retreat with injuries and abandoned equipment. Intelligence-led missions led to the arrest of suspected collaborators believed to be assisting in logistics and movement of fighters and their families.
The military also confirmed that follow-up operations resulted in the rescue of abducted civilians held in terrorist enclaves. Some victims were recovered during clearance missions after troops dismantled hideouts and applied sustained pressure on insurgent positions.
Authorities say the combined operations reflect ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist supply chains, degrade their operational capacity, and restore security in affected regions, while assuring that further offensives will continue in line with national security objectives.
