The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with a robbery incident in which job seekers were lured to a fake interview and dispossessed of their valuables in the Magodo area of the state.
The incident reportedly came to light after a viral video showed several applicants stranded and distressed, with victims alleging that they were invited for a job interview in an organised setting that appeared legitimate before being robbed of their phones, money, and other belongings.
According to police sources, the case was reported after the video circulated online, prompting an investigation. One suspect has since been taken into custody, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other individuals believed to have participated in the operation.
The command also advised members of the public, especially job seekers, to be cautious of job offers circulating on social media and to always verify companies and interview venues before attending such invitations.
Investigations into the case are still ongoing as authorities work to uncover the full network behind the scheme.
