Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a suspect for allegedly being in possession of a human head and severed palms.
The arrest was made after security operatives intercepted the suspect during a routine operation in the state. Upon searching him, officers reportedly discovered the human remains concealed among his belongings, prompting immediate arrest and investigation.
According to police sources, the suspect is being interrogated to determine:
- where the body parts were obtained
- whether they are linked to ritual activity or homicide
- and if other suspects are involved
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Authorities say more details will be released as investigations continue, while urging residents to remain calm and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
This incident adds to a series of recent cases in the state involving illegal possession of human remains, which police say they are actively working to curb.
