The Plateau State Specialist Hospital in Jos has dismissed reports suggesting tension within the facility over an alleged plot by terrorists to abduct doctors and other health workers. The hospital management said the claims circulating on social media were misleading and exaggerated, explaining that an internal security memo that went viral was misinterpreted by the public.
According to the statement, the circular was part of routine internal security briefings meant to remind staff to remain vigilant, especially given general insecurity concerns in the state, and not an indication of any immediate threat.
The management further stressed that there is no tension within the hospital, adding that all staff and patients are going about their normal activities and that services remain fully operational.
It urged members of the public to disregard rumours capable of causing panic, reaffirming that the hospital remains safe and committed to delivering healthcare services.
