A tragic accident in Delta State has left multiple passengers dead after a petrol tanker crushed a commercial tricycle, in what eyewitnesses describe as a sudden and devastating collision.
The incident reportedly happened around Refinery Junction in Effurun, where a tanker lost control believed to be due to brake failure and rammed into a tricycle (keke) carrying passengers.
According to reports, the impact was so severe that all occupants of the tricycle were killed on the spot, with bodies badly mangled from the force of the crash.
Eyewitnesses said the tanker driver was unable to regain control before crashing into the tricycle, triggering panic in the area as bystanders rushed to the scene.
The accident caused serious traffic disruption, as emergency responders and officials worked to clear the wreckage and recover the victims.
This incident adds to the growing number of fatal tanker-related accidents in Nigeria, many of which are linked to brake failure, speeding, or poor vehicle maintenance.
