The Oyo State Fire Services Agency has recovered one body and rescued nine persons following an emergency incident in Ibadan.
According to officials, the agency received a distress call and swiftly deployed firefighters to the scene, where multiple victims were involved. Rescue operations were carried out immediately, leading to the successful evacuation of nine individuals.
However, one victim was recovered dead during the operation, with authorities confirming that the body has been handed over to the appropriate agencies.
The Chairman of the agency, Moroof Akinwande, reiterated the commitment of the fire service to rapid emergency response, noting that timely intervention helped prevent further casualties.
He also urged residents to remain safety-conscious and promptly alert emergency responders during incidents to improve rescue outcomes.
Incidents like this reflect the recurring role of the fire service in both firefighting and rescue missions, as seen in similar operations where victims are either saved or recovered after emergencies.
