One person has been confirmed dead, while four others sustained injuries in a road accident along the busy Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
According to reports, the crash involved a vehicle that lost control while in motion, leading to a serious collision that left passengers injured.
Emergency responders were said to have arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, where:
- One victim was confirmed dead
- Four others were rescued with varying degrees of injuries
The injured victims were reportedly taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment, while authorities began clearing the wreckage to restore traffic flow on the highway.
Although the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, reckless driving and speeding are often cited as common factors in accidents along the expressway. Similar recent incidents on the same route have been linked to loss of control and vehicle faults like burst tyres.
The Lagos–Ibadan Expressway remains one of the busiest highways in Nigeria, frequently recording accidents due to high traffic volume and long-distance travel pressure.
