The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, has resigned from his position to pursue a senatorial ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fasoranti confirmed in his resignation letter that he intends to contest for the Ondo Central Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stated that his decision is driven by a longstanding commitment to public service and a desire to provide effective representation at the national level.
Fasoranti, who was appointed SSG by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in 2024, also highlighted his professional background, including over three decades in the medical field and his previous role at the State House Medical Centre, Abuja, as part of his preparation for legislative duties.
His resignation is coming shortly after the Ondo State Government directed political appointees with ambitions for the 2027 elections to step down from their positions, a move aimed at ensuring transparency and compliance with electoral guidelines.
Fasoranti has since called on constituents in Ondo Central to support his bid, promising purposeful representation and responsiveness to the needs of the people.
