Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a consignment of cocaine cleverly concealed inside food flasks at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
According to officials, the drugs packaged in 12 parcels and weighing about 2.80 kilograms were hidden in the false bottoms of the flasks and were meant to be shipped to the United Kingdom via a commercial flight.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed that the interception took place at the airport’s export shed, where operatives uncovered the concealed drugs during routine checks.
Two cargo agents linked to the consignment were arrested on the spot, while a follow-up operation led to the arrest of the alleged sender, a freight forwarder identified during investigations.
